"Giving birth should be your greatest achievement, not your greatest fear."
~Jane Weideman

Congratulations on your pregnancy!  Are you a first time mom or a seasoned expert?  Either way, I'm sure you are looking for the best birth experience possible.  For a first time mother, pregnancy can be a time filled with many questions and plenty of emotions.  Even if you've done this before, you may still wonder "what will it be like this time?", What can I do to make this experience a little better"?  I am here to ease your concerns and tell you that "you've got this"!

There are many pathways to birth, and it doesn't matter which pathway you choose, I will be happy to walk with you as far as you need.  My childbirth classes will help you to explore the many pathways to birth, and provide you with alternative routes just in case the road becomes blocked.  Clients have the opportunity to gain knowledge, empowerment and hands on techniques to get you through your labor marathon.

If you are looking for a guide to help support you through your labor and birth journey, it's almost never too late or too early to hire a doula!  Studies show that women who receive continuous support from a doula, are more likely to have spontaneous vaginal births, less likely to have  pain medication, vacuum or forceps-assisted births, negative feelings about childbirth,  and their chances of having a cesarean were reduced!   In addition, their labors were shorter, Pitocin augmentation was used less, and their babies were less likely to have low Apgar scores at birth.

The studies also showed that the best results occurred when woman had continuous labor support from a doula– and not someone from the mother's social network, or someone provided by the hospital staff.   --2012, Hodnett et al.
